![]() ![]() We each have a Samson GoMic via USB that we've set as Microphone in. We're two hosts, located in different parts of the country recording our podcast with in Google Chrome. This guy put up a YouTube video that actually hits the nail on the head and should help explain it a little better. While the splitter is only a few bucks to make your rig phone capable, to do this you really need a board with a selective output. Then, using whatever adapters I need, i run the MON output into the mic input on the splitter. I just drop the MON SEND level on the channel I have the phone's output plugged into. On our board we have a Monitor output and each channel has a MON SEND fader. Unlike traditional in-person guests with a mic and headphones, the caller's "mic" (the headphone output on the phone) shouldn't feed into their "headphones" (the mic input on the phone) otherwise you'll get crazy feedback and they'll hang up. The mic input into the phone is a little trickier. The headphone jack on the splitter is their "mic" (phone output), and the mic jack on the splitter is the caller's "headphones" (phone input).įor the phone output I run the headphone jack on the splitter into one of my mic/line inputs with a short cable and an adapter. You have to remember that it's backward over what is actually happening. It takes the combination TRRS jack on the phone and splits it into seperate headphone and mic jacks. It sounds complicated but as long as you have a mixer it's pretty easy.įirst, I use one of these to hook into my iPhone. ![]() Resources /r/podcasting Wiki Related Subreddits Questions?
